A mystical and captivating interior in a 16th-century building — blending sacred symbols, rich colors, and a touch of magic.
Context
Located in the historical center of Mechelen near Brussels, the restaurant occupies a heritage building from the 1500s. The original interior was neutral and generic, with white walls and basic finishes. The client, a vibrant and charismatic woman, envisioned a space that would reflect mystery, charm, and her personal energy. Inspired by the symbolism of the number 13, sacred geometry, and cosmic aesthetics, the space was reimagined through a deeply conceptual design.
The project is currently in the concept development stage, with 3D visualizations and floor planning complete.

Overview
The design carefully preserves the soul of the historical building while introducing a bold and emotionally resonant aesthetic. Sacred geometry, symbolic patterns, and mystical motifs are woven into the visual story.
The ground floor features a deep raspberry tone balanced by ivory and cappuccino shades. The focal point is a semi-circular bar, custom-designed to suit the narrow layout of the historic space. Its soft, rounded shape ensures a natural flow for both visitors and staff, aligning seamlessly with the building’s original proportions.
The upper floor is defined by a rich emerald green, which brings depth and a sense of calm mystery. Delicate touches of pink and yellow are found in the furniture, acting as subtle accents rather than dominating tones. A lounge zone was also integrated for relaxed and cozy dining experiences.
Floral patterns and fluid forms reflect the client’s vibrant essence and add layers of visual storytelling — turning the space into an immersive journey.
Challenge
Due to the historic status of the building, electrical systems and core structure could not be altered. The challenge was to craft a bold and immersive space while respecting technical and architectural constraints.
Solution
We developed a layered color palette, custom furniture, and a strong symbolic narrative. The layout and zoning followed Vastu and Feng Shui principles, ensuring energetic balance, intuitive movement, and atmospheric depth. The blend of spiritual geometry and rich hues forms the heart of this concept.
